モビリス！海底二万マイルのQラインにはネモ船長の書斎があり、そこではミステリアスアイランドに関わる、様々な情報が公開されています。今回は水中農園の海藻収穫機の展示を翻訳し、その仕組みや構造をご紹介します。

Help Harvester Capabilities & Operational Detail
When properly attached to the mounting fixture on the submarine boat, the Kelp Harvester can be relied upon to reap many hundreds of acres with relative case. The secret is a skilled operator, capable of almost intuitive communication with the drives of the submarine vessel.
海藻収穫機の機能と操作方法
海藻収穫機は、潜水艇の連結具に取り付ける事で、何百エーカーもの土地を比較的容易に刈り取ることが出来る。その秘訣は、潜水艇の操縦士と的確に意思疎通ができる、熟練した技術にある。
イラストの通り、海藻収穫機は小型潜水艇で牽引して使用します。意思疎通は無線やアクアフォンでは無く、目視で行われているようです。

ダイビングクルーが、海底で双方の作業の指示と監視を行う。

巻取り装置のクラッチ
刈り取りガイドレール
巻取り装置は何もしなければ空転する仕組みになっており、クラッチを使うことで車輪と噛み合い、ドラムが回転して海藻を回収します。イラストではペダル部分に矢印が引っ張られていますが、見た感じサイドレバーが車輪と繋がっているように見えるので、ペダルはただの足置きなのでは、というのが私の意見です。
